This peer-reviewed paper was used to measure the loads on high speed train wheel / axle system.  True-Load software provides a proven mathematical
method combined with the finite element technique to obtain loads from strain measurement. This paper studies a wheel set using this algorithm. This paper provides reference values for the reliable application of this load calculation from strain gauge measurement method.
